MSP Software Veteran Alistair Forbes Joins Auvik’s Board of Directors
Accomplished leader brings extensive industry expertise to help guide
rapid growth and global expansion
WATERLOO, ON / May 18, 2017 — Alistair Forbes, a veteran executive in the MSP software industry, has joined the board of directors at Auvik Networks Inc. Auvik, one of the channel’s fastest-growing software companies, makes network infrastructure management software for managed service providers (MSPs).
Forbes was general manager of LOGICnow, a provider of IT service management software acquired by a major US-based infrastructure software business in June 2016.
Following an early career of senior IT appointments with major public companies, Forbes co-founded HoundDog Technology in 2004 as the first SaaS provider that helped MSPs deliver better, more efficient service. HoundDog was acquired by GFI Software in 2009.
At GFI, Forbes was chief technology officer and then general manager of GFI MAX, which delivered a full portfolio of solutions for IT support companies and MSPs. Forbes grew the team from 35 to 250 over a four-year period that saw the business grow ten-fold in revenues and establish a leading position in the MSP market. Global growth and targeted acquisition activities and partnership agreements secured a partner base of 15,000 MSPs worldwide.
Following the de-merger of the GFI Software business units, Forbes continued as general manager of LOGICnow until an infrastructure software firm acquired the company as the platform for its continued push into the MSP space.
