Great minds ask alike
What is Auvik network management software?
Network management software gives IT teams and MSPs the tools to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot their network infrastructure from a centralized platform.
Auvik is a cloud-based network management solution that deploys in minutes — not hours — with no complex setup or expensive hardware required. Once installed, Auvik automatically discovers and maps your infrastructure, monitors device and flow performance, captures syslogs, backs up configurations, and centralizes alerting. We deliver full visibility and control across multi-site networks, enabling faster troubleshooting, smarter capacity planning, and operational efficiency.
What is an Auvik collector?
An Auvik collector is a lightweight software that operates like a proxy to the cloud. The collector auto-discovers devices, pulls inventory, and builds real-time maps and dashboards, without heavy setup or on-site deployment.
Available as an OVA, bash script, or Windows service, you can install it in a variety of ways: Windows workstation, server, virtual machine, exi host, Raspberry Pi, or Docker. The collector uses ping and SNMP to discover your network devices, see how they’re connected, and monitor how they’re performing.
Collectors are also free and disposable, so you can deploy one per site, share one across multiple sites, or deploy multiple on a single site — however you prefer to organize your network management.
What makes Auvik different?
Unlike legacy systems that require constant tuning or custom scripting, Auvik is built for modern IT and MSP teams who need speed, simplicity, and scalability right out of the box.
Auvik is designed to be easy to deploy and more intuitive to use — so you’re not stuck relying on one gate-keeping network engineer with obscure institutional knowledge. It’s simple enough for junior techs to get up to speed quickly, but allows senior engineers drill into the details.
A lot of the things you used to do manually will be automated and always up-to-date — like the network mapping, logging of device details, and backing up config changes, etc. That way, you don’t fall behind on your own network.
How quickly can I deploy Auvik across my network?
Most users have full visibility in under one hour. To keep things moving quickly, make sure you have SNMP set up. It also helps to have a few details handy — like the IPs or subnets you want to scan, your device login credentials, and any API keys or SNMP strings your firewalls or switches use. (For more info, see our Knowledge Base.) With that ready, Auvik can map your environment in as little as 30 minutes.
If I want to continue with Auvik after my trial ends, do I have to start a new deployment from scratch?
No. Everything you set up during your evaluation can be carried forward — your network map, device discoveries, configurations, sites, and collectors. If you choose to switch from a quick Windows collector to a more permanent option like Docker, you can do that without losing anything. You’re simply picking up where you left off.
Can Auvik manage devices from diverse vendors and protocols?
Yes. Auvik is vendor‑neutral and supports over 15,000 device types from more than 700 vendors, including routers, switches, firewalls, servers, IoT, and OT devices. It works seamlessly across SNMP, CLI, REST APIs, cloud APIs, NetFlow/sFlow, CDP, and LLDP to automatically discover and monitor any supported hardware, even in highly heterogeneous environments. This broad compatibility ensures consistent visibility across varied environments without the need to manage multiple tools or vendor-specific workflows.
Is Auvik good for MSPs?
Auvik is excellent for MSPs who need to manage dozens (or hundreds) of client networks efficiently. With a multi-tenant architecture, MSPs get centralized dashboards that provide real-time visibility across all client environments, along with automated inventory, alerting, and network mapping per site. Customizable alert routing ensures the right technicians receive the right notifications, while integrations with PSA and ticketing tools like ConnectWise, ServiceNow, Autotask, and Microsoft Teams help streamline workflows and reduce response times.
By automating repetitive tasks and delivering instant network insights, Auvik empowers MSPs to scale faster, increase margins, and deliver higher-value service with less overhead.
Does Auvik integrate with the tools I already use?
Yes. Auvik integrates with popular ITSM, PSA, and communication tools like ConnectWise, Autotask, ServiceNow, Microsoft Teams, Slack, and more. You can automatically route alerts, sync device data, or enrich support tickets, streamlining your operations and eliminating data silos.
Does Auvik offer server monitoring and endpoint monitoring?
Yes:
- Auvik provides server monitoring for Windows servers, tracking key metrics like CPU, memory, and disk usage.
- We also offer endpoint monitoring to monitor the performance and connectivity of end-user devices, ensuring smooth operation for remote and hybrid teams.
How does Auvik help with network security?
Auvik gives you real-time visibility into every IP-connected device on your network (including often-overlooked OT and IoT assets) so nothing slips through the cracks. It centralizes syslog monitoring with customizable alerts, flags unauthorized configuration changes, and integrates with identity providers like Okta and Azure AD for role-based access control and two-factor authentication. The result is a continuously monitored, audit-ready environment that helps you detect threats early, respond faster, and tighten control over your network’s security posture.
What kind of support does Auvik offer?
Auvik provides customer support through email, live chat, and phone during business hours, along with a searchable knowledge base and an active peer community. Our documentation is detailed and frequently updated, covering everything from deployment to advanced configuration. We are a responsive team willing to walk through complex issues, from onboarding to troubleshooting CLI credential setups for configuration backups.
Customers describe Auvik support as “fantastic,” “precise,” and “quick to respond.”
How does pricing work at Auvik?
