We get it, free stuff is exciting, and ain’t nobody got time to read some legal mumbo jumbo.

But we can assure you, the majority of confusion (and frustration!) occurs when the terms and conditions aren’t read. These terms tell you exactly what you need to do to qualify for the offer—and what could disqualify you.

In an effort to be as clear and transparent about our promotion details as possible, we hope this list of FAQs also helps you narrow in on any additional or specific questions you may have.


Frequently Asked Questions

Do you actually give out prizes?

We sure do! We’ve sent out thousands of prizes (switches, access points, routers, etc.) over the last few years – 7,626 from 2022 through 2025 to be exact.

If you qualify by meeting the terms and conditions of the offer (see “Am I eligible to participate?” and “How do I qualify?” sections below), you’ll get the offer. Check out these Reddit threads from past participants who did: Thread 1, Thread 2, Thread 3, Thread 4, Thread 5

You’ll also see posts from those who didn’t get the prize. Due to fraud attempts, we closely verify all participants and disqualify those who don’t meet the terms. (Please don’t try to scam us like this guy or this guy!) 

Am I eligible to participate?

You must answer YES to all of these:

  • I’m a resident of the U.S. (50 states & DC), Canada (excluding Quebec), or the U.K.
  • I’m an MSP, IT service provider, or corporate IT professional (not a student or home user).
  • I haven’t received an Auvik offer in the last 6 months.
  • I haven’t received 3 or more Auvik offers in the past. 
  • I registered with a valid business email and phone number. 
  • I can verify my professional identity with a valid LinkedIn profile.
  • I can verify the legal existence of my company.
    • NOTE: Websites created during the offer period or lacking credible info are marked invalid by default.
  • I meet the legal age of majority and am not an existing Auvik employee or customer. 
  • I have employer permission to participate.
Does my company need to be a certain size?

No, but you must verify its legitimacy if requested. 

Do I need to purchase Auvik to participate?

No purchase is required.

Will I be charged after my trial expires?

No. Auvik trials don’t require payment info, so you won’t be charged when it expires.

How do I qualify for the promotion?

If eligible (see “Am I eligible to participate?” section), you must:

  1. Submit the entry form on the promotional landing page. (Current/most recent offer here)
    • You’ll get a confirmation email that references the offer if you do this. Example:
    • If your confirmation email does NOT reference the offer, you didn’t sign up on the offer page and you will not qualify. Example:
  2. Set up your trial by adding a site and downloading the Auvik collector.
  3. Activate your trial before the offer period ends by having the collector discover at least 8 physical network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, controllers).

    IMPORTANT:
    • Devices must be automatically classified by Auvik using a network management protocol supported by Auvik, such as SNMP. 
    • Manually changing device types will result in disqualification. 
    • Network devices must be physical devices. Virtual devices don’t qualify and are excluded.

My devices aren’t recognized as Network Devices. Why?
  • Network devices include only switches, routers, firewalls, and controllers.
  • Devices must be detected and classified by Auvik—manual changes lead to disqualification.
  • Virtual devices do not qualify as a physical network device for the offer—these are excluded. 
  • It’s best to keep your devices monitored for at least 48-72 hours (longer the better).
How and when will I get the offer?
  • Within 2 weeks of meeting qualifications, you’ll get an email to submit a waiver.
  • All qualified participants will be notified by the date in the Terms & Conditions.
  • Once we’ve reviewed your waiver and verify you met the terms and conditions, you’ll get an email to confirm your shipping address.
  • Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing and shipping after you confirm your address.
Why did I get a gift card instead of a physical prize?
  • Canada (excluding Quebec) and UK participants receive a gift card equivalent to the prize value.
  • U.S. participants may receive a gift card due to stock/logistics.
  • E-gift card links expire after 14 days—claim them ASAP.
Why was I disqualified?

We have several validation checks to verify submissions meet our terms and conditions. Common reasons for disqualification include:

  • Invalid business email, phone number, or website
    • Websites that lack credible info or were created within the offer period are considered invalid.
  • Multiple entries or emails submitted for the same person.
  • Not an MSP, IT service provider, or corporate IT professional.
  • Already received a prize in the last 6 months or have received 3 or more Auvik offers in the past.
  • Did not meet the 8 physical network device requirement.
  • Device types were either virtual or manually changed. 
I believe I was wrongfully disqualified. What can I do?

Reply to your disqualification email with your:

  • LinkedIn profile
  • Company name & website
  • Company LinkedIn profile
  • Confirmation of your IT role (MSP, IT service provider, corporate IT professional)

Why can’t students or home users participate?

Auvik is designed for business use, so our offers are exclusively for IT professionals.
